My Big Brother Experience

Yummy!!!!

No it's not the one on TV. I am talking about the Brothers Burger. Last week, my mom and I, together with my brother went to  Greenhills in San Juan to have the CPU's video card fix (I think it kinda melted). Also, since I stupidly updated my ITouch which is jailed break, I cannot access any of my installed application (the cracked ones) because my OS became legal again, I decided to came along too. The technician told me that if I jail break it again, I would never, ever have to let it run out of battery because I will have to re-open it via computer. So I decided to have it installed new original ones. (Cost me Php500.00). After we had our errands done, we decided to have a snack on Brothers Burger, my mom and I are both first timer so we don't really know what to get and whether if it's any good, we just trusted my brother's word. I am a fan of burger and my mom is not. So we kinda both know what a good burger is and what is a no choice burger. At first we were going to order the Brothers Burger but the cashier told us that their Big Brothers Burger is on sale. (Php95.00 only which before was I think Php165.00 or something) We got that one because it's cheaper than the first one. When the burgers arrived, it was huge, like the champ on Jollibee. My mom instantly said that she cannot finish it because it's big and not a fan of burgers. I took a bite on my burger and it tasted awesome. It did not taste greasy and funny at all. All I can taste was a clean grilled patty. Heck, could be even better than Burger King. I look over to my mom to see how she is doing. To our amazement, she is almost done. We teased her if it's that good that she is almost done with her burger. She only said that she was hungry, we just said "right...." hahaha.

So yeah, for all the burgers lover out there. You must try Brothers Burger!!! Now I want one ...

The Most among them ....

1. The most EXPENSIVE fruit
Pomegranate
---Chinese Apple also known as Pomegranate. I wonder why is the most expensive in the world.  Every time I google Chinese Apple, the Apple Brand is the one coming up. I need to further research this, maybe I should go to China. hahahaha

2. The most EXOTIC fruit
Kiwano Melon

Dragon Fruit
Rambutan

---There are so many exotic fruit in the world. The top 3 are the RAMBUTAN , DRAGON FRUIT and  KIWANO MELON. Good thing about the rambutan is that, it is very common in our country and we can enjoy it whenever we want too. Dragon fruit, I always wanted to try one of those. Maybe I'll finally have a taste of it one of these days. Kiwano Melon, they say it's native in the desert, It's taste is like melon mixed with banana, lime and cucumber. And I think I haven't seen anything like it here in the Philippines.

3. The most HEALTHIEST fruit
---There seems to be a discussion of what is the healthiest  fruit in the world depending on what healthy is. Low in calories, most vitamin content, highest in water content and fiber. So here is the deal. If you want fruits rich in anti-oxidants and anything the prevents diseases, cancer and heart problems. Go for berries and family like. For vitamins, go for citrus fruits and family like.  And everything else contains water and fiber.  So it really depends on what you need and what you want to prevent.

4. The most POPULAR fruit
---In a statistical study made in UK using google engine to find out what is the most popular fruit in the world. Can you guess what it is? Yes, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away!"

5. The SWEETEST fruit
---Carabao Mangoes. The sweetest fruit is right here in the Philippines. Our Carabao Mangoes from Guimaras Islands. Popular ways to enjoy mangoes are just eating it as it is, having it as a fruit shake, add some cream or other things like chocolate syrup, or the popular mango float. Have it you way.

6.The most DISGUSTING fruit
---What do you think it is? The first page of google search shows that Durian is the most disgusting fruit. Do you agree? I do, because I already tasted some and the same just seeps into your nose that makes you sick.

A Special Birthday Treat

Chahan Rice
Some of you know that it was my Birthday yesterday and I had an early celebration with my closest friend the day before that. I was supposed to cook all the food, but my mom started to cook everything so end up chopping what she needs. We prepared spaghetti , menudo, shrimp and my first time Spicy Lemon bothered Chicken. Yeah, it was bothered because they force me to cook some buttered chicken but I did not want to bother the chicken. Also, one of my friend bought some choco mallows cake by Goldilocks ( told her not to buy that. But I still said thanks.) Got tons of junk food and few bottles of Tanduay Ice. (I still have 5 bottles left on the fridge). When my actual birthday came, I was waiting at home....alone..... (*tumbleweed* ..) After my mom came, we went to Mall of Asia to pay her bills and have some dinner. We ate at Kimono Ken where they serve one of the Japanese food here in the country. We had some Tofu Steak (really fresh tofu!) , Pork Katsudon and a very yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy Chahan Rice!!!!!!

Pork Katsudon
Tofu Steak
After dinner, we started walking towards the department store but when we got inside we immediately stepped out because there's no signal inside the mall. We decided to have a dessert. We saw the new ice cream parlor beside the entrance of the department store were Gloria Jeans Coffee Shop used to be. The parlor is named Swensen's. They have the fancies Ice cream, most cutest and not to mention not that expensive if you want a real treat. I ask one of the waiter if they have something for birthday celebrant. They have these some kind of birthday boat or something, but it was too much for my mom and I to handle. So we ordered a separate cup with a cute design.

Sweet Princess
I ordered the Sweet Princess. It has a scoop of a yummy strawberry Ice Cream, a drizzle of strawberry jam, a cherry and some decorative waffles. Woooo!!!! Yummy. A perfect dessert to end my Birthday. My mom ordered a chocolate ice cream, I can't really remember the name but is has something choco and chocky I think.
It was yummy too. I'll probably try that the next time I visit the parlor. I hope with some friends so they can enjoy it too.

Hoooray for the Best!

Poll result:

  • Fruits : 36%
  • Cake: 31%
  • Ice Cream: 26%
  • Chocolate bar: 5%

Hooooray for the Fruits!. And Hooray for those who choose to stay healthy. I'm not surprise why fruit won. With all the fast foods everywhere, fruits are the most accessible healthy food in the market. So cheers for health. And for the valiant effort of our little taste heaven here on earth, you have not lost in vain. So for all the fruit lovers out there who also enjoys the company of cake and ice cream, and chocolate. I give you. Fruit Graham.
I think this is one of the best way to put them all together. Ice cream , cake, fruits and chocolate in one. The way to make this is just the same as making a mango float. But you can replace the original graham flavor with chocolate one, or add some chocolate bits or kisses on top. You can choose whatever fruits you want. Add one or two or more types. In my version of cream filling, I always mix the condensed milk with nestle cream, that way the sweetness of the milk will even in every part of the cake. One tip of making this, avoid using fruit with too much citrus and very unusual ones ---- like durian (brrr). So whatever you choose, we can all enjoy a good yummy fruit graham. Maybe I should make one for my birthday.
